BASRI & SALMA IN A NEVER-ENDING COMEDY
Basri and Salma are husband and wife who own an Odong-Odong (an Indonesian style mini carousel ride for kids). Every day they would go around the neighborhood entertaining and taking care of other people’s children. They have been married for five years and yet they haven’t been blessed with a child. One day after work, they meet their relatives in a family gathering. They both faced a bunch of condescending statements by their relatives about their childless status.

Filmmaker based in Makassar, a very small city in the east side of Indonesia. He began his career by making a short film funded by Youtube Creator for Change and Mobile Film Festival called Makassar is a City for Football Fans in 2021. The short film was in a competition at 2022 Sundance Film Festival, won the Jury Prize for the Short Film Competition at 2021 Sundance Film Festival: Asia, Best Fiction Short at Minikino Film Week 2021 and it was selected various festival such as Tampere Film Festival, BFI Flare, Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival and Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival.
