Go to Edinburgh and gain experience in film journalism!

Calling all students! Fancy an all-expenses paid trip to the Edinburgh International Film Festival to write about film? Why not apply for Student Critics Programme? There are two open spots for Polish-based students.

Student Critics Competition aims to support the next generation of film journalists, offering experience, skills and networking opportunities to students with a passion for cinema.

Open to students aged 18-26, successful applicants will attend screenings, receptions and events at EIFF 2018. They will be mentored by professional film journalists, creating articles throughout their time at EIFF (20 – 26 June). All travel and accommodation is paid for.

Last year, EIFF Student Critics were mentored by Nick James (Sight and Sound), Simran Hans (The Observer, Buzz Feed, Little White Lies) and Mariola Wiktor (Dziennik.pl, Film&TV Kamera). Mentors for 2018 will be announced soon.

To apply, send a 500 word review or three minute vlog or audio review on a recent or classic film to – education@edfilmfest.org.uk by 25 May 2018.

Please include the following with your application:

      • Name
      • Date of birth ( you must be aged 18-26 on 20/06/18)
      • Current place of residence
      • Matriculation Number
      • Institution of study and the name of your course
