AS IT WAS
Lera has been living in Berlin for almost a year since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. One day she decides to go back to Kyiv. On her way, she finds out that her family is not in Kyiv and will arrive only the next day. She meets her friend Kyrylo, with whom she spends the day.
Anastasia Solonevych
Anastasia Solonevych is a filmmaker from Kyiv. She graduated from the Film and Television Directing Department of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2020. As a director, she has made music videos, one of which was awarded at the 2022 Prague International Film Festival. “As it was” (2023) is her debut.
Damian Kocur
Damian Kocur is a director and cinematographer. He graduated Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School in Katowice and is working on his PhD degree at the Film School in Lodz. His feature debut “Bread and Salt” (2022) was awarded at festivals in Venice, Cairo, Cottbus, Antalya, Gijon, Gdynia and Bratislava, among others. His latest film “Under the Volcano” (2024) premiered at the 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and was selected as a Polish candidate for an Oscar Award. Kocur is also the author of numerous short films, such as “Dalej jest dzień” (2020), “My Heart” (2019) and “Nothing New Under the Sun” (2024).
