24th CINEMAFORUM: OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE MAIN COMPETITION

This year, fourteen titles will compete for the Grand Prix – from Palme d’Or winners to Berlinale discoveries. The selection was made by the festival’s Artistic Director, Błażej Hrapkowicz, and very soon you’ll be able to watch them all on the big screen at KINOMUZEUM.

Below we present the final fourteen films that will compete for the Grand Prix of the International Short Narrative Competition during the 24th CINEMAFORUM in Warsaw.

Which titles will compete for the Grand Prix?

This year’s competition lineup includes fourteen titles, but two stand out in particular – I’M GLAD YOU’RE DEAD NOW (Palestine/France/Greece) and THE MAN WHO COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT (Croatia/France/Bulgaria/Slovenia). Both were selected for the Short Film Competition at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to win the Palme d’Or in their respective years, 2025 and 2024. Moreover, THE MAN WHO COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT was also nominated for the 2025 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film, making these two strong contenders in this year’s Warsaw selection.

The lineup also features BLUE HEART from Haiti (Quinzaine des Cinéastes), the French short DAMMEN, and the Canadian animation HYPERSENSITIVE – fresh from the 2025 Cannes Short Film Competition.

The best short films on one screen

The program of the 24th CINEMAFORUM is not limited to Cannes – it also brings together highlights from other leading festivals around the world. HIPPOPOTAMI (China/Hong Kong) premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. MY MOTHER IS A COW (Brazil) was showcased in the prestigious Orizzonti section at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in 2024. Berlinale audiences were already charmed by JULIAN AND THE WIND by Connor Jessup (Generation section) and THROUGH YOUR EYES by Nelson Yeo (Berlinale Shorts 2025).

And the list goes on – AS IF TO NOTHING (Singapore) had its world premiere at the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, TODAY WE WILL ALL HIDE (Poland) won the 2025 Jantar Award for Best Narrative Short, THE BEAR’S RIVER (Belgium) received the Best Social Awareness Award at Animayo 2025, while THE PRINCE (Spain) collected accolades at Seminci in Valladolid 2024 and won Best Short Film at the 2025 Gaudí Awards. Completing the selection is Canada’s ONE DAY THIS KID – a film that qualified for the Academy Awards after winning the Grand Jury Award at SXSW 2025.

Together, they form THE BEST SHORT FILMS IN THE WORLD, which audiences will be able to watch this autumn during the 24th CINEMAFORUM – all on one screen at KINOMUZEUM.
