Apply now for Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Student Critics Programme!

It’s an amazing opportunity, which supports the next generation of film journalists, offering experience, skills and networking to students with a passion for cinema.

Open to all UK based students aged 18-25, successful applicants will attend screenings, receptions and events at EIFF. They will be mentored by professional film journalists and create articles during their time at EIFF (19-25 June 2019). All travel and accommodation is paid for. There is also funding available to support two students from Polish institutions to become Student Critics at EIFF 2019.

Last year, the EIFF Student Critics were mentored by Jonathan Romney (the Independent on Sunday, Sight & Sound, Film Comment, Screen International and more), Amber Wilkinson (Co-founder of Eye for Film), Simran Hans (The Observer, Buzz Feed, Little White Lies), and Rhianna Dhillon (BBC Radio 1 and 1 Xtra, BAFTA Guru Podcast, Radio 4 Seriously Podcast). Mentors for 2019 are still to be confirmed, but will once again be professionals at the top in their field, with a wealth of experience to share with you.

To apply, send a 500 word review or three minute video or audio review on a recent or classic film to studentcritics@edfilmfest.org.uk by 24 May 2019. Remember to use Student Critics in the subject line of your email.
