This retrospective – co-organized with Goethe-Institut – presents an overview of some of its successful films from the past ten years. The selections consist of films made in the basic studies (“Olgastr. 18”, “It’s me. Helmut”, “Mayday Relay”, “Blind Audition”) as well as films from the project-based studies in the 3rd year (“Blue Summer Symphony”, “The Fantastic Love of Beeboy & Flowergirl”, “The Captain”).

Freibadsinfonie / Blue Summer Symphony
dir. Sinje Köhler, 2017, 30 min
A public pool, a sociotope. A scene of daydreaming and gentle snoozing. It is a place where everything is fine, or at least it feels like it. The smells of summer are in the air: sun milk lawn and flower fries, beach ball melon and chlorine lemonade. In the tightest of spaces half-naked people share an afternoon, some hours with each other while time flies by so quickly. That is where you find the poetic banality of everyday life.
